At a Glance

Once upon a time, a lone xaela felt a out of place in Eorzea. They wandered for a time, gained new skills, met a few folks, and in general tried to enjoy life outside the Steppe. But it wasn't quite enough to feel whole and so eventually they wondered if there were others that felt the same. Thus did they decide to try making a group, something to give themselves and others a place while providing a means of forming beneficial ties. The idea for a caravan of foreign or lost souls seemed to work for they gathered many, some coming and going. They managed to even purchase a building, then a bigger one as their group expanded. In time the 'caravan' part of their name became more reference to origin and the present diverse cast of people under their roof. They'd spend at least 3 years as the Fire's Rest Caravan, a place to rest one's weary soul alongside a friendly set of folks.

After three years and many talented sorts finding a home with them they decided perhaps it was indeed time for the group to become a somewhat formal business. The original three Xaela had become just two running the place, and with some encouragement they agreed a slight name change was in order. The Fire's Rest Trade & Acquisition or 'Trade & Acq' for short seemed apt. Afterall many would pay for a skilled artisan or mercenary or gatherer right? And they on their own could acquire unique items and knowledge for themselves or to sell yes? The core goals of home and coin would never change, and the community would never be as professional as some but they'd try at least. So why not continue to return and rest by the fire here after each good job done hmm?

Recruitment

Fire's Rest Trade & Acq. is a light to medium rp, 18+ RP FC with housing, content nights/help, map runs, roleplay & based in the EST timezone on Mateus. Our roleplay themes in general are adventure, exploration & slice of life. Likely exploring ruins or seeking treasures and knowledge left behind with maybe some investigating, offering guard services from any mercenaries or willing fighters the company has plus of course also skilled artisans and their wares, performing odd jobs and welcoming even the average citizen if they need IC work & home. We're currently on break from story plot but in the mean time we'll always have two things of rp a week(one being a venue), plus content help.The company welcomes folks from all over and strives to maintain a drama-free environment. Most IC jobs outside open nights at the shop/company's building are from across Eorzea & clients that hire the company or a job is found for them to take on. We have a house in the Lavender Beds whose name is The Laughing Fox. Our goal OOCly is to make a fun social space where we can do long-term rp and content together. To try and provide an environment for consistent connections with one roleplay item a month as our activity requirement. The IC goal would be for adventurers, artisans, merchants, sellswords, and even average citizens to come together in one group to form beneficial connections that could help whatever they're working on, make some gil, and hopefully IC friendship! The company leads also formed the group to provide a place for lonely souls to come together.We are open to new and veteran players/rper alike(with a resources channel to help), & are LGBTQIA+ friendly. Please keep in mind we are ICly a neutral good aligned fc and those leaning towards or are evil-aligned will be turned away. We also try to follow in-game lore as close as reasonably possible, with a bit of lore bending allowed as is reasonable but no breaking lore!
Though as a fair warning, there are concepts we will not accept such as:

✾ Characters from other Shards, Comics, Books or Videogames, etc.

✾ Overpowered characters
Voidsent & Yokai characters will be reviewed and potentially accepted on a case-by-case basis.Lastly we do have an interview process you'll go through upon entering, with the rest of the discord opening up once completed or you decide you want to be a Guest! Don't worry the interview isn't too tough, it's a means to get to know you and your character. However, it's highly recommended to join the discord as a guest in that case as that's the easiest way to get an alert if we're doing something.

Despite almost always being up for peddling their wares to those open to buying the group does now have a shop/pub alongside a more permanent residence. Having started in Thanalan they acquired a building in the Goblet then eventually Empyreum and finally the Lavender Beds. The caravan now turned company has worked long and hard to get where it is today, though rest assured everything put out is of quality. If you don't find something you seek you can always ask one of the staff! So please do take a gander...Next open night is set to be September 27th & October 4th(weekly)! As the seasons change we continue to try and offer a cozy environment plus pleasant company to all that step through our doors. Provided they behave themselves of course.
